World … “stay safe and heal.”

I have had this trinket globe on my desk throughout my career over the past 16 years. Originally in banking, it was then packed away safely and travelled with me as my companion whilst working abroad and again sat proud on those desks. It also sat with me throughout my recruitment career and here it is now, in my home office.
As a business owner holding on to this globe now with only one thought in mind … “stay safe and heal.”
Day 1 on lockdown in NZ and already proud of our wee nation as we stand together to overcome this virus.
Keep safe everyone and take great care out there.

Optimism through Covid-19

I’d like to extend my thoughts to you all over this time of uncertainty. Walking through the supermarket last night really did feel somber. To have walked passed a stranger and know they too were feeling the same feelings of anxiety and concern over what might be ahead. To see the face of the pharmacist and nursing staff when I had popped in to see them over something minor, to know they too are feeling the same way we all are but needing to put up a brave front.

I got on with my day job today, calling candidates and having great conversations over their aspirations and uncovering their hidden talents. Ensuring they bring it all to the forefront to highlight how great they are. To laugh and relate; to consult and guide; to advise and help. I LOVE my job! The “doom and gloom” bubble I was certainly in just magically popped.

We need to stay positive. We need to feel grateful that each and every day we face, we have an opportunity to make a difference, contribute and live. To use our time wisely. To take a moment and support those around you even if it is just with a smile and kind eyes. Anyone who might need to hear a friendly voice, call. Happy to support where I can. Take great care.
